Commemorates the Battle of Surabaya in 1945, when Indonesian fighters resisted British and Dutch forces. The battle lasted three weeks, and the Indonesians lost, but the resistance became a symbol. Every year at 10:17 AM, a moment of silence is observed. The heroes are remembered, the battle is retold, and the children learn that freedom was not given. It was taken.
