In Goa, the Christmas season begins on December 7th with the feast of St. Francis Xavier, whose body is enshrined in the Basilica of Bom Jesus in a glass coffin. The body is 470 years old and has not decomposed, which the faithful consider a miracle and the scientists consider an ongoing mystery. The Christmas celebrations include konnknni carols, nativity scenes called khemps, and a feast that includes sorpotel, bebinka (a layered coconut cake), and dodol (a black coconut sweet).

You notice that islanders favor dogs and cats as household pets, with some keeping tropical fish and parrots. ACADA celebrates the world's pets, and helps assure better care.
