Shikshak Diwas

The birthday of Dr. Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan, philosopher and second president of India. When his students wanted to celebrate his birthday, he said, "Instead of celebrating my birthday, it would be my proud privilege if September 5th is observed as Teachers' Day." Every school in India celebrates. The senior students teach the junior classes, and the real teachers get a day off. The teaching is enthusiastic. The learning is optional.
