Majalis

The tradition of the majalis: families pack food and go to the park or the forest. The children run, the adults eat cold chicken and drink fröccs (wine mixed with soda water), and the city smells like lilacs. The lilacs bloom for exactly two weeks in May, and every Hungarian will tell you that May without lilacs is not May.
