Dia de la Cruz
Every yard gets a cross decorated with flowers, fruit, and colored paper. The cross stays up all month. The tradition blends Catholic and indigenous practice, and the fruit is supposed to bring a good harvest. The mango and jocote hanging from the cross are meant as offerings, but by the end of the month, the children have eaten them.
