Wait, no. Jun 17: Tag der Deutschen Einheit (pre-1990). The Day of German Unity was June 17 from 1954 to 1990, commemorating the 1953 East German uprising. The date still resonates with former East Germans. The actual holiday moved to October 3 after reunification. June 17 streets still exist in every western city.
