Jour de la Francophonie

The French language as spoken in Gabon has its own rhythm, its own vocabulary, its own way of turning a simple "comment ca va" into a five-minute conversation. A simple greeting becomes a negotiation, a farewell becomes a ceremony, and every sentence ends with "eh" or "voyons." The embassy holds a reception. The Gabonese hold the language in their own hands.
