Asmara Evening Walk Season

Proposed. When the sun dips and the highland air cools, every Asmarino takes to the streets. The passeggiata, inherited from the Italians, is now fully Eritrean. Harnet Avenue fills with families, couples, teenagers, and elders walking slowly, greeting everyone, seeing and being seen. The espresso at the bar is consumed standing. The gelato is licked slowly. The evening is long and the walking is the point.
