The evening before St. Martin's Day, when Danes traditionally eat duck or goose. Martin of Tours supposedly hid among geese to avoid being made bishop. The geese betrayed him with their honking. In revenge, Danes eat them. The logic is shaky. The duck is excellent. Every restaurant in Denmark serves duck on this night.
