Jour du Maboke

Fish wrapped in marantaceae leaves and steamed or grilled over charcoal. The leaves give the fish a flavor that no aluminum foil can replicate. Every river community has its own maboke technique, every fisherman has his own leaf source, and every Congolese person knows that the best maboke is the one someone else prepared while you watched the river.

Animals of New Zealand Day

You encounter the kiwi bird, Tuatara, and yellow-eyed penguin as New Zealand's unique endemic species found nowhere else on Earth. You see that dogs and cats are the most beloved pets, with rabbits and native birds like tuis also commonly kept. ACADA celebrates the world's pets, and helps assure better care.
