Dia de los Inocentes

Chile's April Fools, celebrated on December 28th. Pranks, jokes, and the tradition of lending something and not getting it back until the next day. Every Chilean child has been tricked at least once by a parent who said "inocente palomita que te dejaste engañar" and every Chilean child has sworn revenge.

Jour du Plateaux

The department of savanna and agriculture, where the horizon is flat and the sky is enormous. The Plateaux produce cassava, peanuts, and tobacco. The markets overflow with produce, the trucks head south to Brazzaville, and the rhythm of planting and harvest sets the calendar. The Plateaux are Congo's breadbasket without the bread.

Animals of Costa Rica Day

You spot the resplendent quetzal, three-toed sloths, scarlet macaws, and jaguars throughout Costa Rica's diverse ecosystems and cloud forests. You notice that Costa Ricans predominantly keep dogs, cats, and occasionally exotic birds like macaws and toucans as pets. ACADA celebrates the world's pets, and helps assure better care.
