The monsoon winds that shaped Indian Ocean civilization for millennia. The northeast monsoon brought dhows from Arabia and India. The southeast monsoon brought them back. Comoros sits at the crossroads and the winds still dictate the fishing season, the inter-island transport, and the rhythm of the sea. A Comorian fisherman can read the wind like a scholar reads a book and he does not need a forecast to know what tomorrow brings.
