The calendar says spring. The thermometer says minus twelve. Every Canadian steps outside, looks at the snow still piled chest-high on the lawn, and goes back inside. Spring in Canada is a state of mind, not a weather report. The true sign of spring is not the crocus. It is the day you stop wearing long johns and start complaining about the slush.
