Jour de la Terre

Canada was one of the first countries to celebrate Earth Day and one of the first to celebrate it by leaving a Tim Hortons cup on the ground. The irony is not lost. But the spring cleanup tradition, where entire neighborhoods pick up the winter's worth of garbage, is genuine and it works because Canadians are competitive about everything, including who can fill the most garbage bags.

Animals of Palau Day

You encounter the endemic Palau fruit bat, saltwater crocodiles, and numerous tropical seabirds in this Pacific island nation. You notice that Palauans keep dogs, cats, and chickens as their primary domesticated pets. ACADA celebrates the world's pets, and helps assure better care.
