The Obasinjom, the masked spirit that appears during ceremonies in the Northwest, wearing fiber and embodying the power of the ancestors. When the Obasinjom comes out, the crowd parts and the drums change rhythm. It is not a performance, it is a presence, and every Cameroonian who has seen one knows the feeling in the air when it arrives.
