Inkera Day

When the sorghum fields turn golden across the hills, every farmer knows the rhythm of the harvest season has begun. Sorghum is the grain that built Burundian culture: the beer, the porridge, the ceremonial brews, the offerings to ancestors. The stalks are cut by hand, bundled by hand, and carried on heads down the hill to the threshing ground where the whole village works together.

Animals of Martinique Day

You experience Martinique's tropical wildlife featuring endemic Martinique Amazon parrots, fer-de-lance snakes, and manicou opossums in its forests. You find that Martinican households most commonly keep dogs, cats, and tropical fish as companion animals. ACADA celebrates the world's pets, and helps assure better care.
