Mwaro Day
The mwaro was the most sacred drum in the kingdom, kept in the royal court and beaten only for the mwami himself. It carried the voice of the ancestors and its beat meant that something of great importance was happening. The mwaro was never touched by ordinary hands and its rhythm could be heard across the hills, telling everyone that the king had spoken.
