National holiday. The day grapes and other first fruits are blessed in church and then eaten with gratitude. No Bulgarian touches grapes before this date if their baba is watching. The rule exists, nobody remembers exactly why, but violating it feels wrong in a way that has nothing to do with logic and everything to do with tradition.
