Makgadikgadi Day

The Makgadikgadi Pans are one of the largest salt flats in the world. Dry season and you can see the curve of the earth. Wet season and the flamingos arrive by the thousands, turning the pans pink. The baobabs at Kubu Island stand like sentinels and every Motswana who has slept under them will tell you the silence out there is louder than any city.

Animals of Namibia Day

You witness the oryx, springbok, and black-backed jackal roaming Namibia's stark desert landscapes as signature wildlife. You notice that dogs and cats dominate as pets, with some residents keeping guinea fowl for both companionship and eggs. ACADA celebrates the world's pets, and helps assure better care.
