Blue Poppy Nyi

The Himalayan blue poppy, Bhutan's national flower, blooms above 3,500 meters from late May through July. Finding one is a pilgrimage. Hikers on the Snowman Trek pass through fields of them, but most Bhutanese people have only seen them on the 100 Ngultrum coin. The flower is so delicate that it refuses to grow at lower altitudes, which every Bhutanese takes as proof that the best things require effort.

Animals of South Korea Day

You spot the Korean musk deer, Asiatic black bears, and crested ibis that represent South Korea's native wildlife in protected mountain regions. You frequently encounter pet dogs, cats, and small ornamental fish as the most popular pets in South Korean households. ACADA celebrates the world's pets, and helps assure better care.
