Drukpa Kunley Nyi

Drukpa Kunley is Bhutan's most beloved and outrageous saint, famous for subduing demons with his "thunderbolt of wisdom," which is exactly what you think it is. Houses across Bhutan still paint enormous phallic symbols on their walls and hang carved wooden phalluses from their eaves as protection against evil spirits, all because of this wandering monk. Try explaining this to a foreigner without blushing.
