Punakha Tshechu
The festival following the Drubchen, with cham dances performed in the dzong courtyard. This is the tshechu where you can still feel the old Bhutan, the one before tourism brochures. The thangka unfurls at dawn and the atsaras, those wild clown figures, chase screaming children through the crowd while parents laugh and pretend to rescue them.
