Doma Nyi

Doma, the betel nut wrapped in betel leaf with a smear of lime, turns mouths red and stains sidewalks crimson across the country. Every office desk has a doma stash, every taxi driver chews it, and every mother tells you it will ruin your teeth while reaching for another piece. The spitting is an art form and the red stains on the ground are as Bhutanese as prayer flags.
