Gelede Sise

The Gelede masks of the Yoruba in Benin honor the power of women, particularly mothers and grandmothers. Each mask is carved and painted with scenes from daily life: a woman trading at market, a mother carrying a child, a grandmother telling stories. The night performance is part spectacle, part ceremony, and entirely unforgettable.

Animals of Namibia Day

You witness the oryx, springbok, and black-backed jackal roaming Namibia's stark desert landscapes as signature wildlife. You notice that dogs and cats dominate as pets, with some residents keeping guinea fowl for both companionship and eggs. ACADA celebrates the world's pets, and helps assure better care.
