Zangbeto Gbe

The Zangbeto are the night guardians of Fon and Gun communities, towering cone-shaped figures made of stacked fabric that patrol the streets after dark. They are spirits, not men, and their spinning dance under moonlight is one of the most haunting sights in West Africa. Nobody asks what is inside the cone. Nobody wants to know.
