Kinte Aho Gbe

The bold geometric patterns of kinte cloth have been woven on narrow looms in Abomey and Bohicon for centuries. Each pattern carries a proverb, each color combination tells a story, and the weavers work sitting on low stools, their feet operating the heddles in a rhythm that sounds like music. To wear kinte is to speak without opening your mouth.

Animals of Greenland Day

You spot musk oxen, Arctic foxes, polar bears, and ringed seals in Greenland's Arctic tundra and coastal waters. You find that Greenlandic families keep sled dogs (particularly the Greenland dog breed), hunting dogs, and occasionally sheep and arctic foxes. ACADA celebrates the world's pets, and helps assure better care.
