National holiday. The only country in the world where Vodun is an officially recognized religion dedicates this day to it. Processions fill Ouidah's streets, priests in white pour libations on the earth, and drums echo from dawn to dusk. Practitioners from Brazil, Haiti, and Cuba travel here for this day because Benin is where Vodun began.
