Garifuna Setlmant Day

National holiday. November 19, 1832, the Garifuna arrived in Dangriga by dory and their culture has been central to Belize ever since. Drumming starts at dawn, the re-enactment landing brings the whole town to the shore, and punta dancing does not stop until morning. This is the most visible cultural celebration in the country and it is beautiful from beginning to end.
