Brugs Kant
Bruges lace has been stitched by hand since the sixteenth century, and the women who still make it work with bobbins and pins the way their grandmothers did. The Lace Centre on the Peperstraat keeps the tradition alive and tourists buy lace souvenirs without realizing that real Bruges lace takes weeks to complete. The lace makers of Bruges are artists who happen to work with thread instead of paint.
