Crab Fest Season
Marking the season when land crabs are fat and plentiful and every Family Island holds a crab-themed celebration with crab and rice, crab soup, and crab catching contests. Andros hosts the biggest crab fest, but Eleuthera and Abaco have their own, and every version involves live crabs, big pots, and a whole lot of seasoning. You have not lived until you have watched a Bahamian grandmother chase a crab across the yard with a stick.
