The Sanctuary of Muxima is Angola's most important Catholic pilgrimage site, a small church in Bengo province beside the Kwanza River. Hundreds of thousands visit every year, walking for days. Some come for the Virgin, some come for the tradition, some come because their grandmother came. Whether you believe or not, Muxima is part of Angola.
